Optimal power system design and energy management for more electric aircrafts

Recent developments in fuel cell (FC) and battery energy storage technologies bring a promising perspective for improving the economy endurance of electric aircraft. However, aircraft power system configuration distribution strategies should be reasonably designed to enable this benefit. This paper is first attempt investigate optimal sizing with hybrid FC propulsion systems. First, novel integrated management parameter (IEMPS) framework established co-design hardware control algorithms. Under IEMPS framework, new real-time algorithm flexible ratio facilitate optimization, which can adapt different configurations. Based on comprehensive analysis hydrogen economy, aging cost, stability, multi-objective optimization model decide size systems hyper-parameters controller. The X-57 Maxwell, an experimental by NASA, employed verify developed methods. work provides configuration, sizing, method future commercial design, it further promote aviation electrification process.
